SarsMaat - An Educational Tax site
Why I built this
I wanted to start off with building an iOS app for this idea first, and now that's available on the Apple App Store!
Web App Version
In the end I decided that too much effort had gone into making this app, so I "remade" it as a web app at sarsmaat.co.za. It covered the 2026/2027 South African tax year with a set of calculators, a SARS forms guide and a deadline tracker, plus a light and dark theme.
The only feature left out is the document storing and profile feature, because I didn't want to have to create user profiles as that's a whole other aspect to a Web App.
Tax Assistant MCP
The site also exposed its calculators as an MCP server, so you could hand a single config to your AI assistant and run tax calculations (tax, PAYE, VAT) straight from chat.

The web app is being taken down, so this page stays up as an archive of the project.
The below section is purely just "marketing" content, but thought it would be interesting to keep in anyways.
